Co-production

Australia has film co-production treaties with many countries, including China. An official co-production means that your film is treated as an Australian production in Australia, which has many advantages in clearances, visa approvals etc, and it means that the qualifying Australin expenditure (QAPE) is eligible for the Producer’s Offset tax reimbursement. Talk to us about co-production—it may be the final piece in your funding jigsaw.

Financial management assistance

We can help you set up a SPV (special purpose company and bank account) to operate the cash flow while you are on location in Australia. We are able to enter into co-production arrangements where appropriate and facilitate Producers Offset reimbursement for qualifying expenditure.

Location assistance

Scouting: Experience in finding the most appropriate environment for a specific scene or an entire film in NSW and the ACT, with links to local knowledge in Queensland and Victoria.

Permits: Filming permits differ according to the location: while Sydney has a strict permit regime, other cities and locations welcome and support film crews. Our contacts and local knowledge can smooth the way through set-ups and action sequences in urban areas.

Location Management: We take care of your location planning from initial consultation through to completion. We have the skills and experience to oversee, anticipate and suggest cost-effective location management solutions.

Visa assistance

Overseas actors and crew require a 420n (Entertainment) Visa and a clearance from the MEAA (entertainment union) for the time period that they are working in Australia. Peace Mountain Productions can provide 420s sponsorship and facilitate the application process through the union and government bureaucratic processes.

Language assistance

Our bilingual company can supply competent, appropriately trained Chinese-English interpreters for every stage from legal and script translations to on-location interpreting.

Transport, Accommodation & Catering

Tell us your requirements for crew and cast transport to and from location, airports and hotels and we will negotiate package deals with bus and car hire companies. We will seek out appropriate hotels, motels and guest houses near your location and broker the best terms. Our contacts with location catering companies ensure your crew and cast will never go hungry.
